The Definition of Success in Real Estate Sales

Success – suc•cess (sǝk-'ses), noun:

1. the ability to do business now. 2. the generation of business immediately and regularly. 3. the identification of new business at any time in any situation. 4. seeing and doing business that other agents miss. 5. possessing the fundamental skills required to experience near-term and consistent  sales results. 6. making more money faster and easier than you otherwise have achieved.

Your potential to succeed now in real estate sales is determined by your ability in four key areas, and which is what the Fred Wilson Production Model® is about. Yet the level of success you actually experience in your business is wholly up to you. 

EXERCISE: To examine your understanding of and level of commitment to success, and thus to further help ensure you attain the results you seek:

  1. Complete and score the following Success Assessment Questionnaire.
  2. Read, fill-in, date, and sign the Self-Commitment Pledge each week, for 12 weeks…  (see below)

Self-Commitment Pledge

I acknowledge that it is me who determines the nature of my success in real estate sales. Therefore, I agree to  take personal responsibility for the  process. Also, I understand that many of  my limitations are self-imposed and, as a result, that their enforcement (or the lack thereof) is up to me. I realize that I can  either be the victim (by believing that  failure is not my fault) or the victor (by  striving to own and overcome the  challenges I face). I accept that the  decision I make going forward is mine alone…

Beginning today, I will invest the time, effort, and resources needed to consistently do the following four things that are crucial to my success:

  1. Strive to raise my awareness of how opportunity works.
  2. Make talking with people my top priority from day to day.
  3. Develop my verbal ability to operate in discovery mode.
  4. Stay on track by measuring & evaluating what I do each day.

On my honor, I pledge to give my best effort to accomplish the above four tasks; and I commit to achieving my income objective stated below:
